Dosh Takes Black-Owned Business Initiative Nationwide
At Dosh, we’re committed to investing in small businesses and building more equitable systems. Back in June of 2020, our team launched an initiative to address the significant impact of COVID-19 on the small business community, specifically Black-owned small businesses in Austin (our hometown).
Now, we’re thrilled to roll this program out nationwide. We’re inviting all Black-owned businesses to join the Dosh platform for a free 30-day advertising campaign, so you can offer shoppers automatic cash back on purchases made in-store through a Dosh-linked card. We’ll waive the marketing fee and fund the cash back, usually paid by the merchant, up to $500. There’s no cost to you and no catch. Simply put, we’re offering 30 days of free marketing and automatic cash back to customers who shop in-store at Black-owned businesses.
The Federal Reserve Bank of New York recently found that Black business owners were most severely impacted by COVID, with a 41% decline in active Black owners as many were forced to close or shut down businesses. Recognizing this disparity, we want to help Black business owners recapture foot traffic and drive sales in their stores as they reopen across the nation.
As a member of the Fintech Equality Coalition, Dosh is committed to creating a more equitable financial ecosystem and impact industry-wide change. This initiative is one of the many steps we’re taking to enact that change.
